I guess we'll all be wormy

Last night was Halloween and of course the kids were very excited. I wasn't really in the mood for it all yesterday but didn't want to ruin their fun. I also remember how exciting Halloween was for me when I was a kid. I've written about it before so I won't go into it all again but, I remember my dad always used to tell us that eating too much candy would make us "wormy." I knew he was joking but in the back of my mind I always worried about it.

We didn't go to very many places last night, just a few family member's houses. Since it was a Friday night there was probably twice the amount of people out. Last year we did our trick-or-treating the day before Halloween because of it falling on Sunday. Traffic between Corryton and Halls was very heavy. The most crowded we saw it was at Mary's sister's subdivision off of Emory Rd. There were hundreds of kids and families roaming the streets. Cars parked all over the place. It was really scary driving through there because of the amount of people that were just walking in the middle of the road, mostly wearing black and no lights. I was just praying that I wouldn't accidentally run over somebody. Luckily we made it back out without any problems.

The best stop we made was at one of Mary's other sister's house, which also happens to be my best friend Kevin's house. We ended up staying there for several hours singing, playing, and talking until midnight. Kevin and I haven't gotten together in a very long time. We are both so busy with work and church that we don't make enough time for friendship. I could have stayed there all night talking with him. We got to talking about the Bible, Heaven, and Jesus and we probably would have broken out in revival if we had stayed much longer. But, the kids needed to get home and in the bed.

This morning Elizabeth and Matthew were bargaining with their candy. It reminded me of when me, Pam, and Jenny would do that. We usually took advantage of Jenny because she was the youngest. "Oh Jenny, these candy corns are so good and there are so many more of them than that old Snicker's bar. She would hand over the chocolate and we would give her candy corn or hard candy. Matthew was trying that on Elizabeth this morning but I intervened. Of course Elizabeth is so big hearted that she divided up her candy and shared with everyone. You can guarantee that Matthew won't volunteer to give any of his away.

Well, I've got a lot going on today so I gotta get off of here and get with it. Don't forget to set your clocks back tonight. Oh, and come join me at Union Baptist Church tonight at 6:00 pm for the HisVoice/Kenny Bishop concert. I will be their guest music director.
