Your chance to win a $50.00 gift card!!!
Economic times are tough. We all know that. And, Earth Fare, the healthy supermarket, seems to know that too. Have you been to their stores? If so, you would know that they are always trying to make healthy eating affordable, easy and delicious! Seriously - have you tried their homemade, all-natural chocolate chip cookies - if not, it is .99 cents of deliciousness! Well, in celebration of the opening of their new Knoxville store on June 17th, Earth Fare gave me a $50.00 gift card to give away! Yeah, very cool. They just said, hey Byron - give this away for us.
So, now, we want you to tell us why you deserve or just plain want this gift card. We've all got stories. You may have a family of four to feed on a tight budget. You may have lost your job recently and just need some extra help. You may be a cookie lover or organic food nut! Or, perhaps for whatever reason, you've never tried a healthy food store and just want to see what it's like! Give us your best reason, and we'll consider it for the prize.
The best story gets the card. So, ready, set, and get writing. Post your reason in the comments below today! You only have until Friday, June 12 to get your entry in. And, we're waiting..

I don't have a sad story, but I am a doubting Thomas about Earth Fare. When I was pregnant with my last child, I had gestational diabetes. The fresh vegetables, meats and sugarless drinks with flavor DOUBLED our food budget. Unless your family eats nothing but legumes, I just don't see how anyone can claim that it is cheaper to eat health foods. I am positive that in the long run, healthy eaters pay less in medical problems, but on a day-to-day basis, organic groceries are mega expensive.
I am a musician and I work with banjo players.
The difference between a 50.00 gift card and a banjo player? A 50.00 gift card can feed a family of four.
Bryon where have you gone to? Can't find you anywhere on the www you still there?
I think I deserve to win the gift card because I want to try and eat healthier but have never known how. Mabe if I had the means to get some healthy food I could learn how. How is that?
Peace out!
Cathy, I do good to be able to feed my family beans and taters so I know what you mean. Would be nice to get a $50 gift though for nothing!
Jerry, I hear you brother. Only thing worse than those banjer pluckers are them there geetar pickers. I reckon they all need to eat though!
Stephen, It is time for me to disappear for a while, perhaps forever. Only place you'll likely find me is on the Sermon Network.. Your entry sounds as good as any excuse I've heard.
Byron, I would love to blog how far $50 goes in Earth Fare.
I would love to win the gift card for my wife and six (plus one on the way) children! Not only do we try to eat healthy, but we avoid all the processed stuff. Sadly, it becomes increasingly difficult with the cost of everything going up. I am a freelance art director who has been working only now and again for any real money due to the economy. When I found out that there was a new EarthFare coming closer to us (we live in east Knoxville), I was so glad, then realized that we do not get to visit the other because of distance, but due to the cost...
Anyway, I realize that we are no less deserving than anyone else commenting; yet, as a full time college student trying to make a better life for my family, the extra fifty dollars would come in handy!
Be Blessed!
Ben

Thanks to all of those that followed the Knoxville Trivia Blog. That blog is now deleted. A few posts were kept and imported to this blog (like this post).
