One blessed Tug

If you know me at all then you know that I'm not typically a happy traveler. I hate being away from home and my family but I realize that part of my job requires that I travel. Usually when I go on a business trip, I find that my family has secretly slipped cards into my suitcase for me to read. I always love to read the words that they write. I can be hundreds of miles away but just seeing the time and effort that my family spent trying to cheer me up lifts me up more than you can imagine.

Tonight after traveling for nearly 12 hours, I made it to my room and and then went downstairs for dinner. As soon as I got back in my room I opened my duffle bag and started taking items out. Underneath  a pair of bluejeans was four cards. A big smile quickly spread across my face and I sat down to read them. They were all so wonderful with hand drawn pictures, flattering words, and love and wishes for my quick return.

My kids always try to relate something personal; Jessica drew pictures of coffee cups and wrote; "you are the cream to my coffee." Matthew drew pictures of guitars and fishing lures. Elizabeth drew a Bible and wrote a poem she had made up: "If you was Paul, I bet you'd write a law, that you need to know God, and if you didn't, you would be a fraud." I thought that was so good! Mary's card wasn't homemade but it was perfect.

Yep, I'm one blessed Tug.

Thankyou Daddy about what you said about my poem. ( how did you know it was home made? )
