On this day in 1905, my great, great grandfather, Pvt. James Knox Polk Chesney, died. Forty-four years prior to his death, he served in Company C of the 4th Tennessee Battalion (Branner's) Cavalry for the Confederate States of America, enlisted on July 6, 1861
Hi, I'm Tug, it's not my real name, but a name that was given to me by one of my older cousins when I was just a kid. I'll be posting some stories of how things were when I was growing up. I'm doing this in hopes that someday my kids and my grandkids will be able to go back and read about what it was like growing up being just a poor East, TN boy.
