Hallelujah, first course complete!

It's hard to believe that it has already been 3 months since I started working on my Master's of Ministry degree through Crown College. Tonight I put the finishing touches on my Advanced Old Testament notebook, which I have to turn in to get credit for my first course. I have never read so much in my entire life! It has been very rewarding for me and helpful in my ministry. I'm planning to take a month off before starting my next course, Advanced New Testament. Once again I'm trusting in the Lord to provide the monetary means for me to attend. I won't go into any details but lets just say things are tight right now.

Our pastor is on vacation this week and I am scheduled to preach tomorrow morning at church and also this Wednesday night. In between various chores and all of my school work, I've been trying to study for sermons. We had a work day at church today to get ready for our homecoming on August 2nd. My son and I went over for a couple of hours but we didn't really do a whole lot. Just carried a few boxes of junk out of the fellowship building and cleaned up the choir room. There were lots of folks working and it looked like they had everything under control so I left early to come home and study.

Speaking of the homecoming, I am really excited this year because Rev. Charlie Lynch is going to be preaching! You can read a post I wrote about him HERE. I hope we have a good turnout. We normally have a pretty good attendance for homecoming but it seems our attendance has been pretty low lately. I have come to the conclusion that people just don't love God. If they did they would attend His church, read His Word, and love His people. Nowadays people love themselves more than they love God and it really shows in their lives and in the shape that our nation is in. All I can do is pray for folks. I feel sorry for them really because they seem oblivious to the fact that one day they will be answering to God for how they have lived their lives. Just as the Bible says in Hebrews 10:31, "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."

Oh yeah, the magazine cover to the left... I did this on some website, mymagpic.com or something like that. Well, I don't have time to be sitting here blogging, I've got to get back to studying. I'll blog at ya later.
